Design Concept

My concept is based on day and night, as the festival runs events around the clock. This differentiation allows me to more clearly separate or highlight information when necessary. As this is a Canadian event, I also ensured the designs could accommodate both English and French, as a second language needs to be specifically considered. Finally, using a bright colour palette and simple illustrations makes the content more appealing to target family audiences.

The Process

Brand Guidelines

To begin I created my main poster. This allowed me to establish key illustration styles, colours, and fonts to be used in the remaining pieces of collateral. The program was a larger task as I had to first decide how to split up the information in a way that it was logical and digestible to the viewer. Bringing in the same colour palette, textures, and day and night concept helped to create continuity. My digital ticket and website use the sun and moon icons as embellishments, and my merchandise set uses key colours to make festival attendees recognizable.
